1. Who Processes Your Purchase
Purchases of Horos Legal paid plans are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record and authorised reseller for the transaction. That means your order is a contract between you and Paddle, and Paddle handles the payment, the receipt, applicable taxes, and any refund.
Because Paddle is the seller on the transaction, refund requests are made to Paddle and are assessed under Paddle’s policies rather than ours. Horos Legal supplies the product; Paddle sells it.
2. Our Refund Policy
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, except where required by law or by the Paddle Buyer Terms.
We do not operate a discretionary refund window of our own, and we do not grant refunds as a matter of goodwill. Beyond the cases described in Section 3, a completed purchase is not refundable.
A free plan is available and does not involve payment, so no refund arises on it. Details of the paid plans are on the pricing page.
3. Refunds Required by Law or Buyer Terms
Where a refund is required by applicable law, or by the Paddle Buyer Terms, that refund is honoured. This is the only circumstance in which we refund a purchase, and it is not subject to our discretion.
Because Paddle is the merchant of record, Paddle determines eligibility under its own Buyer Terms and Refund Policy and issues any resulting refund. Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Refund Policy state the circumstances in which a refund is available, including any period within which a request must be made. Those documents, not this page, govern the assessment.
If you believe a refund is required in your case, submit the request to Paddle (Section 4). Paddle holds the transaction record and can confirm whether your purchase qualifies.
4. Requesting a Refund
Refund requests are made directly to Paddle at paddle.net. Paddle also provides a support link in your transaction confirmation email and in the billing page of your account, which you can use to submit the request.
Because Paddle holds the transaction record, Paddle verifies eligibility and timing. If you are unsure of your transaction details or whether you are eligible, contact Paddle and they can confirm.
5. Effect of a Refund
If a purchase is refunded, access to the paid features it provided ends. A refunded plan does not remain active. Your account continues to exist, and you can keep using the free plan, but the paid features associated with the refunded purchase are removed.
6. Cancelling a Subscription
Cancelling a subscription and requesting a refund are different things. Because all sales are final, cancelling does not produce a refund for a period already paid. What cancellation does is stop future billing: it takes effect at the end of the current billing period and prevents any further payments.
You can cancel through the Paddle Customer Portal, using the “Manage subscription” link in your transaction confirmation email, or by requesting cancellation at paddle.net.
7. Paddle’s Policies
Refund eligibility and process are governed by Paddle’s own documents, which are the authoritative terms for the transaction:
If there is any inconsistency between this page and Paddle’s Buyer Terms and Refund Policy, Paddle’s documents apply.
8. Your Statutory Rights
Paddle’s Refund Policy states that where local consumer protection laws grant you additional or non-waivable rights, the highest level of rights applies, and that nothing in the policy limits your mandatory consumer rights. Nothing on this page limits those rights either, and our statement that all sales are final does not override a refund that the law or the Buyer Terms require.
9. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the Last Updated date at the top of this page. Paddle’s own policies may change independently, and the versions linked above are always the current ones.
10. Contact Us
Refund requests must go to Paddle, since Paddle holds the transaction and issues the refund. If you have a question about Horos Legal itself, or about this page, write to support@horoslegal.com.
